Driver Assessor

A cost effective way of reducing your fleet expenditure while increasing fleet safety, particularly for larger fleets is to identify problem areas by appointing dedicated personnel as Driver Assessors.

Companies who wish to internally train their employees or supervisors to assess the practical safety and suitability of potential, new, established or agency drivers could take advantage of the PDS driver assessor course.

An in house trainer can assess the individual’s current standard and offer basic advice to allow an improvement upon those existing skills. They will also recognise where a higher level of training would be required and PDS would need to be called in.

An assessor course is for a maximum of three candidates and lasts 5 days.

The course can take place at either our venue or your venue and will be a mix of theoretical and practical training.

Topics Covered:

The course is specifically designed to train suitable candidates to provide theoretical guidance in the legal and safety issues related to driving a company vehicle and working within the companies driving policies. Candidates are trained in identification and analysis of the main driving errors and / or violations that lead to the vast majority of road traffic collisions.

Considerable emphasis is placed on their own driving ability in order that it is at a standard where faults can be recognised and diagnosed in other drivers. Assessor training enables an individual to be trained to a level where they are competent to assess the current standards of a driver effectively and comment authoritatively on that finding categorising their risk levels into low, medium and high.
