MINIBUS PLUS+R is our refresher Minibus Course aimed at drivers who have previously received training and who are due for a refresher upon the expiry of their original certificate. Or who have received some other form of training and are converting to minibus plus.
The aim of the course is to re-assess candidates driving skills and ensure that high standards of road safety practises are being maintained and to bring them up to date with any new legislation or best practise guidelines which have arisen since they last received training.
Theoretical element provided on a 1:1 trainer to candidate ratio, which will take place in the vehicle prior to the on-road training. On road practical element provided on a 1:1 trainer to candidate ratio.
Numbers are per trainer, multiple trainers can be supplied on request.
Numbers trained per session are reliant upon candidates having maintained a good basic level of safety when driving the minibus and only minor issues need to be corrected.
The course can be run over a half day or full day depending on the preference of the organisation and the availability of candidates.
An individual theory interaction between trainer and candidate takes place with the trainer checking and where necessary improving upon the candidates knowledge of legislation motoring law and best practises of minibus driving. A re-iteration will take place of the correct vehicle checks and safety considerations necessary prior to a journey.
During the practical element the trainer will be checking that the candidate is still driving the vehicle in a way which is safe and comfortable for the passengers. Any areas of concern will be discussed and worked upon. The trainer can also look at areas upon which the candidate may seek advice or clarification. The importance of awareness planning restraint and control are reinforced and a check on reversing and parking procedures is carried out.
